FAQ:
How do projects come to life?
For the moment, until I actually work with an artist, I tend to sit and listen to the music regarding the project. For Norm, as an example. I am very used to Andy Shauf's music. He's an inspirational storyteller. There's already life breathed into these songs, that visualize the story perfectly. With others, I take somewhat liberty in understanding and hearing the song, and build a story around it. You know, like how when you're a kid, you imagine being an astronaut? Songs are sometimes like that. You just get a sort of..feeling.
What's your average budget?
I think it depends entirely on the project. For the moment, I try not to budget for anything over £150. I work small, as I'm a small person myself. 150£ covers normally the basic neccesities, travel, food, and the actor/actors in question. I have looked into larger budget ideas before, and one shot for instance, has been estimated at around £1000. It will vary from project to project. As I become larger as an entity, I will be able to make larger budget productions!
Why the name Hibiscus Visions?
I like flowers a lot. Years ago, I bought a pack of Hibiscus tea from a small side shop. Not very tea-tasty, but the Hibiscus flower is very beautiful. And there's always that saying, "Beuaty in the eye of the beholder". I like sayings like that. These naturally came together. Beautiful flowers, thoughts between eyes, so on. I think it's also a catchy, noticable name. We'll see in time, but it's definitely something I thought about a fair amount before choosing.
